Guest Testimonials

"Thank you so much for allowing me to enjoy your guest house! What a cozy, warm environment! I was able to completely relax prior to our board meeting - hopefully this will allow me to have better input and comments."

"We enjoyed our stay at your beautiful, quiet little haven. Outside it was cold and windy so we especially loved the fireplace!"

Mt. Culmen Guest House

History

"Now, Sleeping in Church is Required!"

The original Mt. Culmen E.C. Church was established in 1862 by circuit riders from Reading, Pennsylvania. In 1960 the church relocated and the building was renovated into a private dwelling. In 2006, it burned down, and restoration of the church began later that year with the stone exterior as the starting block. "Now, sleeping in church is required!"

The original church doors were discovered during clean up from the fire and installed at their original location. The stone threshold was moved to the current main entrance. The solid stone walls offer peace and solitude.

The sanctuary is now a comfortable living room and completely furnished kitchen. With quaint Colonial Williamsburg decor featured through out the house, the master bedroom features a queen bed, hand braided rug, and a private bath, adjacent to a cozy private sitting room.
